AMY MACDONALD REVEALS SIMPLE WEDDING WITH LOTS OF COCKTAILS

Beverley Lyons
AMY Macdonald claims she’s opted for a low key wedding and asked that friends give her no presents for the big day.
The Under Star and Mr Rock N Roll singer revealed she’s anything but a Bridezilla as she prepares for the big day.
Speaking backstage at Scone Palace for BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend she said: “I’m very laidback. I’m not the big crazy who wants this that or the other. It’ll just be casual fun with loads of laughs and loads of cocktails.”
Asked if her dog would play a part in the proceedings she replied: “He might do. He is so cute.”
I’ve specified that I don’t want anything from anyone. Having them there is present enough.”
Amy who has already hosted her hen weekend for friends holds them close.
She has even written songs about her girlie gang in the past.
She said: “Under Stars was written about my best mate who moved to New York and that song was about her. Dream On was about my other mate so they always give me ideas.”
Amy’s appearance at Scone kicked off her U.K. festival season but she claimed she started them as early as April in Europe -halfway up a Swiss mountain.
She said :”We seem to start earlier and earlier now but the best weather is in Scotland. This is the first of my UK festivals. It’s obviously a bit more exciting when you’re home and it feels a bit more magical.
I’ve been so lucky with the support I’ve got all round Europe. I do kind of feel like I’m at home in places like Germany and Switzerland now.
I have had such a loyal fan base for such a long time so it’s always the same faces there but there is something very special playing a home crowd.”

Amy also suggested anyone wanting to follow In her footsteps would have to play Toilet Tours.
She explained: “Just perform as much as possible, that’s the thing. I just constantly went to open mic nights and did millions of little gigs and it meant that when the time came that suddenly I was meant to be professional and doing proper gigs that I was used to doing it. Whereas a lot of younger artists are kind of thrust in to the limelight with no experience of actually performing live, and to me that’s the most important part. That’s where you really prove that you can do it and I think with so many people they don’t get that experience early on and it’s a bit harder for them to sustain it. So for me I would just say just keep playing and play anywhere really. They call them the toilet tours - they’re the ones that you do at the beginning, so do as many toilet tours as you can.”
She loved playing the Biggest Weekend which is also taking place in Swansea, Belfast and Coventry with headliners like Ed SheeranSnow PatrolLiam Gallagher - and his brother Noel In Scotland.
She said: “It’s great to be part of this, obviously Squeeze started us off and it sounded absolutely brilliant. Obviously Noel Gallagher is an amazing headline. I think that we’ve really lucked out with the Perth leg of the festival because I think we’ve probably got one of the strongest headline acts. I saw him perform at Bellahouston Park I think last year and it was an amazing set so I think it will be more of the same tonight.”

AMERICAN PIE SINGER AND YOUNG LOVER SETTLE FOR PIZZA IN GLASGOW

FORGET American Pie - it was pizzas all round as US singer Don McLean showed off his 24 year old girlfriend during his trip to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The legendary 72 year old is dating Playboy model Paris Dylan who is 48 years his junior and they looked loved up during their Scots visit.
Don told his crowd at the Royal Concert Hall that love was the most important thing before he emerged from the building with Paris by his side.
Don chaperoned Paris to his awaiting Phoenix tour bus before deciding to go on walk about for his awaiting fans.
A smiling Paris got hold of some pizza that had been delivered to the bus minutes before and made sure she watched Don every step of the way.
As she tucked into her cheesy slice at the side tour of the bus a cheery Don joked with fans about how much he loved Glasgow.
As he reached the far end of the queue Paris strolled through the tour bus to the drivers end to keep watch on her man.
Asked if he was enjoying his new romance, Don declined it answer but it was clear to see they both only had eyes for one another.

WILLY WONKA AND HIS GOLDEN TICKET COMES TO SIX BY NICO

We love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and that means we can’t wait for Six By Nico’s latest offering.
The adventurous restaurant is bringing to life our wildest chocolate fuelled dreams on its latest menu.
Ever wanted edible wallpaper and to swim in a chocolate river as a kid?
As a nod to Wilder’s memorable performance, Six by Nico restaurants have created a menu full of sweets and treats to get you reminiscing about everyone's favourite childhood flick, ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’.
Following their inaugural six weeks in Edinburgh celebrating the traditional British ‘Chippie’, Six By Nico has today announced (Wednesday May 2nd) the brand new theme for the hotly anticipated second menu which will run from May 15th - June 24th 2018
The restaurant concept that creates a new menu every six weeks has gone through a number of themes since opening their first restaurant site in Glasgow’s Finnieston area last year, from Childhood to Forest and Illusion to Disney but now, for the first time, guests at both city locations will soon be able to enjoy the same menu.
Chef Nico Simeone and his team invite guests to re-live those childhood fantasies by entering into the wonderful world of Roald Dahl's chocolate factory with the Wonka theme menu kicking off at both Six by Nico restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh on Tuesday May 15th.
The new six course tasting menu includes a Reverse Cheese Board!; Duck Sweetie Jar; Beetroot Dib Dab; Cod Blackjack with Shetland squid, Liquorice and Cauliflower; Cornfed Chicken with Chorizo Popcorn, Candied Olive and Mole Poblano Sauce and - of course - a dessert made famous by the movie, 'The Wonka Bar' with Cherry Parfait and Peanut butter Cheesecake.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Wonka without unwrapping a golden ticket with six lucky winning tickets to be found inside Nico's Wonka Bar dessert. The six prizewinners will each win a dining experience at either the Glasgow or Edinburgh restaurant so the Six by Nico Wonka ticket search is on!
Chef Nico Simeone said:
“Let's be honest: when we were younger, we all wanted to live in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. We wanted to swim in his chocolate river and brave the risks to sample Wonka's Fizzy Lifting Drinks. While we unfortunately don’t have a goose that lays gold chocolate eggs, the team are very excited to create some magical culinary dishes that will provock memories of the iconic movie.”
Diners can book a table now for ‘Wonka’. Open from midday, Tuesday through to Sunday, each six-course menu will be available from noon to night. The menu will be priced from £25 per in Glasgow and Edinburgh with the option to enjoy an expertly selected wine pairing for an additional £25 at each restaurant. As ever, there is a vegetarian alternative available for every course, as well as snack sides.
Nico added:“The idea to create a Wonka themed menu originated from my own personal memories of the movie and if you need a little refresher, Six by Nico are delighted invite you to try all kinds of out-of-the-box dishes on this fun and imaginative new menu.”
